Poll Shows McAdams Might Not Suffer Politically For Voting ‘Yes’ On Impeachment

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Wednesday’s House vote on the impeachment articles against President Donald Trump is expected to fall along party lines.
That will also be the case when it comes to Utah’s four representatives.
The Beehive State’s only Democrat in Congress, Rep. Ben McAdams, announced earlier this week that he will vote yes on the articles of impeachment. Utah’s three Republican congressmen, Reps. Rob Bishop, Chris Stewart and John Curtis, have said they will vote against the articles.
McAdams represents a district where Trump won in 2016, but according to a new poll from UtahPolicy.com, he may not end up paying a political price for his vote.
The Utah Political Trends Survey shows that 42% of voters in McAdams’ district say they would be more likely support their representative in Congress following a vote to impeach the president. Thirty-seven percent said they would be less likely to support their representative, and 18% said the House vote would have no impact.
The House is expected to vote on the articles of impeachment sometime Wednesday.
