LEHI, Utah – Authorities responded to multiple traffic incidents on I-15 on Monday, most of which were along the Tech Corridor portion in Utah County.
The Utah Highway Patrol reported troopers had responded to 55 crashes by 8:30 a.m. Before 11 a.m., that number had climbed to 84.
Troopers responded to 84 crashes statewide since midnight. Most have been in northern Utah. Weather was a major factor in most accidents. As the day progresses the roads are slowly getting back to normal. Please continue to slow for road conditions and be safe.

The Utah Department of Transportation had to intermittently close all northbound lanes and southbound lanes in the Lehi area as incidents piled up, sending the luckier drivers on detours. Some motorists, though, had to sit wait as crews worked to clear the scenes of the crashes.
After a night of rain and cold morning temperatures, many drivers were dealing with icy roads Monday morning.
“Weather was a major factor in most accidents,” according to a UHP tweet. “As the day progresses the roads are slowly getting back to normal. Please continue to slow for road conditions and be safe.”
🚌 If you plan on heading up the #CottonwoodCanyons for the remainder of the day, hop on the @RideUTA #skibus. The park & ride lots near the canyon are full, but the underutilized 9400 S and 6600 S lots are nearly empty. 🚌

UDOT also had to close Little Cottonwood Canyon due to natural avalanche activity through the night. The road was reopened shortly after 9 a.m.
Big Cottonwood Canyon was open through the morning, but authorities were forced to close it later due to traffic congestion.
“If you plan on heading up the #CottonwoodCanyons for the remainder of the day, hope on the @RideUTA #skibus,” according to UDOT tweet.
