Extreme weather expected across Utah this week

SALT LAKE CITY — Heat warnings and wind gusts, and flash floods, oh my! The National Weather Service of Utah predicts extreme weather conditions across the state and included several warnings for heat, storms, and flash flooding Wednesday.
Northwestern Utah is under an extreme heat warning and red flag warning with temperatures expected to get between 100 – 103℉ through Friday.
A red flag warning is issued when there is imminent fire danger due to low humidity, less than 25%, high temperatures, and high winds.
A flash flood warning was issued for the Tooele and Stockton area Wednesday evening until 9:45 p.m.

A wind gust of 91 mph was even recorded on the west side of the Great Salt Lake!

Thunder storms are expected today from Tremonton to Farmington and a severe thunder storm warning was issued for Hooper and Plain City with wind gusts up to 70 mph.

Eastern Utah can expect scattered thunderstorms and strong outflow wind gusts up to 50 mph near storms.
A flash flood warning was issued for Kane and Washington County until 8:45 p.m.
