Visit famous movie locations across Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — “The Sandlot” is a classic movie about baseball and growing up, and most Utahns probably know parts of the film were shot in a west Salt Lake City neighborhood.
Is it the best movie ever filmed in the Beehive State? Well, now you can be the judge because VisitUtah.com has an incredible, interactive map for film lovers that’ll keep you busy trying to track down all of the different shooting locations.

When Hollywood comes to Utah, it gets a wide variety of scenes from almost every genre imaginable. And the cool thing about Visit Utah’s map is you can filter the results and they’re labeled with icons.
You’ve got general locations like northern Utah, the Wasatch Front and Back, southeastern Utah and southwestern Utah, but you can also filter by Disney, horror or holiday movies.
Just where were Lloyd and Harry in 1994’s “Dumb and Dumber?” Well, they were supposed to be in Aspen, Colorado, but that’s Park City in the background.

And the Smith Apartments at 300 East and 200 South next to Gourmandise Bakery in downtown Salt Lake City served as the exterior to Lloyd and Harry’s home where Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels lamented the fact that they’d have to work 40 hours a week to save up money for their worm store.
There are so many places to see across Utah, even during the winter months. You can check out locations near Arches where “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” was filmed or Snow Canyon for parts of “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”
